
At Kernstown UMC we believe one of the best ways to continue to grow within our faith is through the studying of the word. At our church, we offer many different classes including three different classes for adults and several special studies that deal with the various challenges that we face within our daily lives. Below is a description of the various classes and Kernstown UMC welcomes you to continuing learning!
Sunday school for all ages is offered on Sunday morning’s beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The Open Door Class in the Fellowship Hall
The Library Class in the Library
The Upper Room Class upstairs in Room 4
Classes for children from infants through fifth grades are offered:
The Nursery Class (Newborn to age 3) uses Toddlers and Twos curriculum
The Preschool Class (Ages 4-First Grade) uses Rock Solid Curriculum
The 2nd -5th Grade Class uses Seasons of the Spirit curriculum
Classes for youth are offered.
The Middle School (grades 6-8) uses the Faith in Action curriculum series
The High School (grades 9-12) discusses current events
Additional studies are led by either Pastor Clay Knick or lay members of the congregation.
Some classes are offered on an annual basis such as:
DISCIPLE, Christian Believer, Jesus in the Gospels, New Member or Confirmation Class
Others on a seasonal basis such as:
The Lenten Studies offered the six weeks prior to Easter Sunday which is offered on Wednesday evenings and features a light dinner and study. This series is led by Pastor Knick.
First Place, a Christian weight-loss program began May 2008. Information regarding First Place can be found at www.firstplace.org.
